Up-and-coming country artist Vincent Mason released his debut album “There I Go” on Nov. 7. This album includes hits like “Hell Is A Dance Floor” and “Damned If I Do.” I think this album solidifies Mason’s spot on country radio and in the country music scene.
Mason just finished up his run on Jordan Davis’s “Ain’t Enough Road” tour, which also helped push his music to a bigger audience, as he also toured with Luke Bryan this past summer.
But alongside dropping the record, he also announced a headlining tour to accompany his album. Mason will start his tour in Kansas City, Missouri, on Jan. 22 and is set to end his tour in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 15.
Personally, I listened to this album front-to-back and immediately decided to buy tickets to his show in Philadelphia. As Mason is only 24, he still has an entire career ahead of him. So, for a debut album, this collection of 14 songs is a super strong start to a growing career.
Mason’s album starts with his title track, “There I Go.” It is a song about his ever-growing career and how he’s constantly on the go, and when he finally settles into a city, it’s already time to move to the next one. He also talks about missing home and how hard goodbyes are in a constantly moving career.
I think this song is such a good way to start an album, as Mason’s career is just beginning. The fact that he ended the album with a short demo is a more unique way to end an album that you don’t see too often.
The album had four strong singles that helped drive the album in a great direction. Such as “Damned If I Do” which I screamed every word to when I saw him open for Davis. However, upon the first few listens of the album, my current favorites are “Little Miss” and “Sink Or Swim.” They are super catchy and have great lyrics that just get stuck in your head.
This album is a great debut to the start of a promising career. Mason’s upcoming tour is sure to be a good one that I can’t wait to see.
