Thursday, April 17 marked the induction of the third class of Millersville’s Cygnus Society, an honor coalition that works closely with University president Dr. Daniel Wubah to “embody the EPPIIC values and combine scholarship, integrity, and maturity with university-wide awareness, participation, and leadership,” according to the society’s webpage.
The Thursday ceremony began in the Lehr Dining Room, where an invited audience gathered for dinner and to listen to Wubah congratulate the newest class of inductees and iterate the goals of the Cygnus Society.
“You have demonstrated your initiative, your introspection, and your deep desire to make a meaningful impact,” said Wubah to inductees, past society members, and family. “You will be the faces and voices of Millerville at important functions and events, representing our values, our aspirations, and our unwavering commitment to excellence.”
Dr. Mary Beth Williams then took the stage, acknowledging the outgoing class of Cygnus Society members:
Julianna Aniceto
Kylie Calogero
Ariana Cuba Rivera
Hope Davis
Josie Dombach
Julia Fallows
Kayla Mitchell
Sam Morris
Emily Riley
Emma Schneider
Cierra Strawbridge
Joshua Zietak
“To our outgoing members, as you continue your academic and professional journeys and beyond, I encourage you to keep pursuing excellence in everything you do,” said Williams, a co-advisor for the society. “Use the knowledge and skills you’ve learned here at Millersville University . . . to make a meaningful difference in the world.”
After the acknowledgment of the outgoing class, society member Kylie Calogero was picked to give an address to inductees.
“You [inductees] are the capable, the chosen, and I am honored to pass on the torch to you,” said Calogero, “Congratulations, and I can’t wait to see what you do with the place.”
The 2025 class of the Cygnus Society includes:
Jessica Cabibbo
Jovanne Cortez
Julia Fischer
Mileena Garonzik
Bo Meakim
Mary-Anna Moraca
Carmen Portillo
Sydney Rauchut
Cesar Rangel Munoz
Devin Sparwasser

Brogan Williams
“Millersville has given me so much as an individual and as a student,” said Calogero in response to what it means to be a part of the Cygnus Society, “so it’s nice to be able to give back to the campus and to the students who will be following me.”
“I’m very proud to be in it, very fortunate,” said inductee Brogan Williams. “It’s a lot of hard work and it’s finally paying off, and it’s a chance to represent the University. I love the University and I get an opportunity to spread that love to others.”
