The Millersville University Council of Trustees has endorsed a new “Strategic Plan” for the next five years.

Endorsed on June 4, “Beyond Boundaries” is a collaboration-based plan designed to answer one central question: “What distinguishes Millersville University?”

“At the moment as an institution, the only way we can move forward is to work together as a collaborative unit,” says Millersville University president Dr. Daniel Wubah.

Based on four strategic directions, Beyond Boundaries “tells a story” of affordability, distinction, resource alignment, and communication at Millersville University. The University aims to prioritize student accessibility and financial literacy, fostering a feeling of belonging on campus, optimizing physical as well as virtual campus spaces, and celebrating Millersville’s programs, traditions, and future.

Beyond Boundaries is built on tradition and transformation. According to Wubah, the new secular program starts with the students and works its way out. Affordability on campus brings more students. If you align campus resources with the priorities of the students, this bolsters professional development with faculty, aiding in relationships both in and out of the classroom. Meeting student priorities and working with professional development can both help to give students a distinctive Millersville experience. Then, you share that experience with people outside of the University, and the cycle repeats.

Beginning in the final quarter of this year, Wubah will begin meeting with students, faculty, staff, alumni, foundation, and University donors both in person and virtually. Wubah will also be looking for Work Group Volunteers.

Set to complete in 2030, Beyond Boundaries “signifies Millersville University’s commitment to its mission, vision, and EPPIIC values,” says Wubah, “If we use this as our ethos, Millersville will become an outstanding place.”
