Meet Chromatic
“I made two of my best friends in this group and I couldn’t be happier,” said Chromatic President Leiahna Garcia“When coming to Millersville I thought I wouldn’t be able to make new friends, but after I joined this group, I found the closest people I would be with for the rest of my school years.”
Chromatic, originally named Chromatic Expansion, started as a vocal jazz group in 2014. The group then moved to acapella in 2017, and started competing in the International Championship of Collegiate Acapella, better known as ICCA, in 2019. The group often collaborates with others on campus, along with attending showcases hosted by other acapella groups at schools such as West Chester, Elizabethtown, and Franklin & Marshall.
Students interested in joining have the chance to audition in August, and the club encourages anyone interested to come out and try it. Auditions consist of singing a pop song acapella and a sight reading test.
“You do not need to have experience in singing or dancing; just passion to sing,” said Garcia. “You could find one of your many best friends here, enjoy a fun environment, and sing all the time. If you love to sing, dance, perform, compete and make new friends, the club is for you.”
ICCA, the same competition seen in the “Pitch Perfect” films, is Chromatic’s major event, one that members spend most of the year preparing for.
“It was an all day event, nerve-racking, and tiring at times, but we were all excited to show everyone our set,” said Garcia. “The best part for me was screaming and cheering for all the other groups. I loved being in a space of like-minded people who enjoy doing the same thing and who have amazing talent.”
Chromatic gives members the chance to not only try something new and meet new people, but also to push themselves as performers.
“Singing a solo for the ICCA 2026 was a very memorable moment for me,” said Garcia. “While it was scary, I am glad with how far I have grown with my singing and confidence in performing. Not only that, but our group grew so much during this year even though we had low numbers and many members who were freshly new to acapella. Seeing our group rise above those challenges was very rewarding.”
Chromatic has more performances before the spring semester ends. The group will be performing at Campus Life’s Grill & Chill event on April 18, VilleHarmonics showcase on April 19 at 2 p.m, as well as a performance at Solanco High School on May 1.
“Showcases are such a fun performance where you can watch other acapella groups without the competing challenge. We can’t wait to join our fellow co-ed acapelle group for this performance,” said Garcia. “Our last performance of the year we will be performing at Solanco High School. Our previous choreography, Kylie Calogero, invited us to perform at their variety show as a good recruiting opportunity.”

Meet VilleHarmonics
“Sometimes we can all get so lost in the music, whether that be an upbeat fun song or a slower, more emotional one, and it just feels so surreal to be a part of.” said Emma Einheber, president of VilleHarmonics.
VilleHarmonics is one of two competitive acapella groups at Millersville University. Founded in 2022 by Alayna Frank, the club was created to fulfill a desire for more acapella opportunities on campus. Emma Einheber, the current president of VilleHarmonics, has been with the club since its creation, and a part of the group for her entire college career.
“I have been lucky enough to be a part of VilleHarmonics my entire college experience,” said Einheber. Being a part of forming the group, seeing it develop, and now getting to lead it has been such an incredible experience. VilleHarmonics has helped me to find my voice confidently, from both a musical and leadership perspective.”
Each year VilleHarmonics also competes in the ICCA competition each year. For many members, this is one of the highlights of their experience in the organization.
“Competing in the ICCA’s really does feel like the movie Pitch Perfect,” said Einheber. The lights, the microphones, the outfits, seeing months of hard work come to fruition, and sharing it all with people you care about. It really is one of my favorite days of the year. The best part is the energy in the room. All of the groups are so supportive of each other, the audience is loud, and it just creates such a great vibe in the room.”
Due to ICCA guidelines VilleHarmonics can have up to 18 members each year. Each spring the organization hosts an open rehearsal that allows people interested in the group to try acapella out and get an idea for how the group runs. Official auditions are then held each semester.
“People should join VilleHarmonics because it is so much more than music,” said Einheber. “While VilleHarmonics has been a great musical outlet for me over my college experience, the people are what really make the group what it is. Everyone at VilleHarmonics is so incredibly supportive, accepting, and kind. I have met people from all different majors, clubs, and backgrounds, and getting to create music together is truly so special.
VilleHarmonics has a performance set for April 19 at 2 p.m. in the SMC MPR. This event, “Treble in the Ville: Disco Edition” will feature the group’s ICCA set, other songs, as well as nine other acapella groups. More information about the organization and other events can be found on their Instagram @villeharmonics.
