The Philadelphia Eagles moved to 2-0 on the season with a hard-fought 24-20 win over the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. Played in extreme heat with blistering turf temperatures, the contest remained tight throughout. Tennessee mounted a late fourth-quarter comeback, taking a brief lead, but Philadelphia secured the victory with a clutch game-winning two-minute drill.
The first half saw the Eagles battle back after an early deficit. Tank Bigsby got Philadelphia on the board in the second quarter with a short 2-yard touchdown run up the middle. Later in the quarter, Jalen Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith on a deep crosser for a 22-yard touchdown, giving the Eagles a 14-7 lead. Tennessee added a late field goal before halftime to cut the margin to 14-10.
Smith put together a stellar performance, anchoring the passing attack with 10 receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown, consistently finding space against the Titans’ secondary.
The second half proved much tougher for Philadelphia. After Jake Elliott extended the lead to 17-10 with a booming 58-yard field goal, Tennessee responded behind quarterback Cam Ward. Ward scored on a rushing touchdown to tie the game, and the Titans later capitalized on an Eagles turnover to kick a go-ahead field goal, making it 20-17 with less than two minutes remaining.
Faced with a late deficit, Hurts orchestrated a brilliant final drive, moving the offense down the field with key completions to Dontayvion Wicks and Smith. With just 14 seconds left, Hurts fired a 3-yard pass to Darius Cooper in the back of the end zone for Cooper’s first career NFL touchdown, sealing the dramatic 24-20 victory.
Despite dealing with injuries and a grueling afternoon, the Eagles made enough critical plays to prevail. Hurts finished with 264 passing yards and two touchdowns, and the defense stood tall at the end. Philadelphia will look to keep its momentum going in its next matchup against the Chicago Bears.
