The Lancaster Stormers celebrated their return to Penn Medicine Park, playing their first home games of the 2026 season against the Long Island Ducks on April 24 in a three-game series. However, the Stormers were left disappointed after the weekend, getting swept and continuing their rough start to the season.
The Stormers fell 7-1 in their home opener, not scoring a run until the 7th inning when outfielder Tyler Robertson picked up a sacrifice fly, breaking a 12-inning scoreless streak dating back to their previous series against the York Revolution. Their bats remained cold, as they only recorded three hits during the game. After their April 25 game was rained out, both teams played a seven-inning doubleheader on the 26th, in which the Stormers found themselves on the wrong side of history.
Game one was a heavily anticipated matchup, with former MLB starter and 2020 NL Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer pitching against Lancaster. The former All-Star threw the 3rd no-hitter in Penn Medicine Park history, retiring the first 16 batters before allowing a walk to catcher Kevin Watson Jr. with one out in the sixth. Opposing pitcher Quinton Martinez was able to keep runs off the board for the first three innings, control issues forced him out of the game in the fourth with the bases loaded, leading to a barrage of runs that ended in a 13-0 score.
Game two was another offensive struggle. After the Stormers took an early two-run lead in the second, the team was held scoreless the rest of the way as home runs from Marcus Chiu (fourth inning), Alsander Womack (fifth) and Caleb Roberts (seventh) sank Lancaster to a 6-2 loss.
The Stormers’ next series begins April 28 at home against the Staten Island FerryHawks. After winning their season opener against York 8-4, the Stormers have now lost five games in a row, including surrendering 37 runs over their last two games against the Revolution. The Stormers have scored two or more runs in a game only twice this season, and have not done so since their second game of the year.
