Millersville’s baseball team got off to a rough start to their conference play this weekend losing three of four against Mansfield. The Marauders kicked off the weekend at home on Friday, splitting the double-header.
Game one of Friday’s double-header saw Mansfield’s Chris Zelko throw a complete game one hitter. Zelko had a no hitter going through the fifth inning, when Millersville’s freshman Carlos Medina finally got a single in the bottom of the sixth
The Marauders once again came up short losing 76-68 in the last game of the season against Mansfield Saturday afternoon. The loss ends Millersville’s season with a record of 8-19 overall and only 3-11 in conference play. The team also ends the season losing four straight games as well as a dismal 1-9 in their last ten games.
On Feb. 6, men’s track and field traveled to New York City for the New Balance Invitational for their seventh meet of the season. Schools from Division I, II, and III competed in the Invitational event.
The Millersville men’s relay team had a great day. Senior Anthony Adamski, sophomores Keith Ogder and Jack Sacnlin, and freshman Chris Jackson ran the 4×400 meter relay with an impressive time of 3:22.75.
The men’s basketball team’s latest loss to Mansfield Saturday, was a game that the team needed to win in order to help keep their playoff hopes alive. However, the Mansfield Mountaineers were too much for the Marauders as they fell 67-64. This is the first time Millersville has lost to Mansfield three straight times since the 1983-84 season.
