MU makes major changes
It is absolutely amazing to see how this university has changed in the time since I was a
freshman. This school was teetering on the threshold of old and outdated. Now, it is anything but that.
When I return from England after this semester I will come back to a Millersville
transformed. The new student center truly is “seizing the opportunity.”
The Ganser Library is latest construction project
With the start of a new school year here at Millersville, there are a lot of changes taking place. The main change giving everyone something to talk about is the upcoming closing of Ganser Library.
If the Student Memorial Center (SMC) is the heart of the University, Ganser Library is, without a doubt, the brain of the ‘Ville. It is where students go to do research, complete assignments, commune with friends and study partners, and even escape from hectic college life.
Staff Editorial: Where is the money coming from?
The construction around campus is not the most pleasant of sights and is not welcoming for incoming students. The construction is not new to this semester, beginning in the summer with the traffic situation at Frederick and George, and now we see it with the SMC and the current fences that have been placed around Gordinier.
SMC construction updates
Due to harsh weather conditions, the SMC renovations are behind schedule, but this will not be a pressing issue for the next phase of construction.
Several changes were made over the break. “The construction crews finished the footers and brought the area in front of the RMPR up to grade,” said Geoff Beers, Chief Operating Officer. The crew also continued to work on the footers and walls for the new open recreational area, as well as complete the concrete walls of the mechanical room.
Millersville construction throughout campus: what is next?
Orange fences, blocked roadways, and confused faces are a common sight on campus this semester.
This is due to a proposed ten year plan that will make many changes all over the Millersville University campus.
Is the University improving?
It is great to be back writing for the Snapper Opinion Section this year, and it is just great in general to be back at good old M.U.
Along with my initial joy of being back on campus for the semester, I was also pleasantly surprised to see improvements being made this year.
