As elections week winds down and the polls close for Student Senate Elections, the lame duck officers do not work any less. Since there was only one candidate running for President, Sarah Darling will take over the office.
A few upcoming dates to remember once again are Saturday, April 10: Brookwood Cleanup from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Student Senate will be the only organization helping out, so if any others are interested they are more than welcome to see Vice President Jackson. April 12 will be the Open Forum during Silencing the Hate Week, held in the Bolger Conference Center at 7 p.m. April 17 is the Walk-A-Thon Student Senate is co-sponsoring, any help is appreciated and those interested can see Angela Smolczynski.
A new sport is currently sweeping colleges nationwide. The sport is a little bit unorthodox. It requires seven team members, four balls of three different sizes, and seven brooms. In the 5,000 meter run, both sophomore Elicia Anderson and junior Jared Kneebone had impressive showings. Anderson took second in a field of 50 runners with a time of 17:29.97. Kneebone’s 15:27.63 run put him in 27th place out of more than 70 competitors.
This past Saturday, March 26, the Lady Marauders got on the field to meet their opponents, the Gannon Golden Knights. However, the outcome of the game was not a happy one for the Marauders.
The Marauders went into last weekend looking to overcome their recent struggles, and came out with three key conference wins over Bloomsburg. Going into the match up against Bloomsburg, the Marauders only had two wins in their last 12 games. The wins over the weekend also helped push the Marauders above Bloomsburg in the PSAC East division standings.
I am a bisexual female and I have not come out to the majority of people in my life. While most of the people who I have come out to have been accepting, some people responded negatively. I want to share some of these reactions and let you inside so you know how I have been affected. I do this in the hopes that you will think before reacting negatively if a friend comes out to you.
Maybe you like to watch a movie and forget about it, or maybe you love to discuss the contents of what you have invested your time in watching. Perhaps you prefer to see a movie only once, or you have lists of movies you could watch repeatedly. Regardless of your individual movie-viewing quirks, it is hard to find a college student who does not enjoy watching movies.
Have you ever woken up to the sound of dozens of alarm clocks going off around you, as you quickly try to find every single ticking time bomb disturbing your sleep? Or run out the door you hit a barrier of plastic wrap sealing the doorway? When you look at the time, the time on your phone is set an hour ahead of the clocks you’ve noticed in public places. As your phone starts ringing, how did your ringtone get switched to “Achy Breaky Heart? Only your best friends know the one sound you might hate more than the voice of Miley Cyrus is that of her one hit wonder father.
