Men’s wrestling team struggles to overcome numerous injuries

By Kevin Martincek on January 28, 2010

Once again the Millersville wrestling team is battling the injury bug. Injuries have plagued the wrestling team over the last couple of years and it is partly responsible for the team’s 3-8-1 record thus far this year. At least five of the team’s regulars have missed time this season, and most recently injuries played a crucial role in the losses of their last two matches.

Sports in American culture

By Kevin Martincek on January 28, 2010

Football is America’s favorite sport and the Super Bowl is fast approaching. I figure there is no better time than now to discuss something that has slowly been changing my opinion of professional and college football that is broadcast to national and local audiences.

How to: Optimize and organize your study space

By Katelyn Kaufman on January 28, 2010

By now, we all realize that everyone studies effectively in different ways. We have those who need complete silence, and we have those who like to study along with music in the background. Some can not bear to take breaks, and want to get the task done once and for all. Others need to take several breaks throughout to keep them sane.

How to: Get the most out of life

By Ashley Keefer on January 28, 2010

Pick a major: We will spend the majority of our lives working, so it is very important to pick a major in a field that you will enjoy and find success in. Sometimes this can be a daunting, stressful task. After speaking with numerous professors, this is the general consensus on how to pick a major with ease: First, discover where your natural talents are. Next, you have to decide which natural talents bring out happiness and excitement in you. You should enjoy what you are doing. Remember to be realistic about your talents, and understand that there will be unattractive aspects to every field.

How to: Get (and stay) healthy, fit, happy

By Kristen Gebhard on January 28, 2010

Staying healthy is not just about exercise. In order to stay healthy, you need to create good habits now, and avoid bad habits in the future.

It is a great idea to exercise at least three times a week, with at least 30-60 minutes of cardio a day. If you are a full time student at Millersville, the SMAC fitness center is free for you and offers fitness classes such as kickboxing, yoga, and “buts and guts.”

We all believed in the old saying, “we’ll be friends forever,” and we said “graduation won’t separate us.” But then we find ourselves two years into college with new friends and browsing Facebook to see what our friends from high school are up to.
