Dancing the winter away

Aspects of Latino culture, such as music, dancing, food and more were featured Saturday night at Club de’Ville.

Presented and largely sponsored by SOLA, Society of Latino Affairs, and the Latino studies minor of Millersville University. Café Latino’s “Winter Fiesta” offered students Saturday night, Nov. 15, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. a unique alternative to usual Saturday nights, either on campus or off, to enjoy aspects of Latino culture, including, food,
dancing and music.

Copyrights in the classroom

On Monday evening, Millersville’s Student-Pennsylvania State Education Association hosted a program on copyrights that took aim at informing education students on laws pertaining to copyrights.

The program, held at Stayer Hall, included a presentation by education Professor Jon Landis. Mr. Landis, accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation, was extremely knowledgeable of copyright laws and gave very helpful tips on how to avoid violating these laws.

Lady Marauders start in record-setting fashion

The Millersville women’s basketball team set a school record on Nov. 6, when they outscored Columbia Union by 71 points.

The largest margin of victory prior to this game was 66, in the 1992-1993 season.

Four players reached double figures on the score sheet, and the defense held Columbia Union to only 29 points.

A possible alternative to “Rate My professor”

Each semester, many students get a pleasant surprise in class: teacher evaluations. All non-tenured professors must complete student evaluations, while tenured professors are only required to do so every five years.

We are told that these evaluations are very important, since it can make or break whether a professor is promoted or considered for tenure.

On the campaign trail

As Barack Obama addressed the nation after the announcement came that he would assume the position as the next President of the United States, I could not help but bear in mind the gauntlet which Obama eventually overcame. Due to the inconceivable incompetence of the Republican campaign, Obama was able to make history.

With the country’s fat asses in couches, eating Doritos and watching Celebrity Wrestling, the rest of the country was embracing the onslaught of slander from both sides like hungry pigs to a trough.
