On Feb. 27, the Lady Marauders faced the Mansfield Mountaineers on the basketball court in Pucillo gymnasium. The met only to blow the Mountaineers away with a 72-42 win.
The first shot of the game was a three-pointer made by Ashley Moyer, which was one of many throughout the game. Moyer’s score was followed by two more from Dominique Stroman, with an assist by freshman Mashira Newman. Newman also assisted Jenna Craig with the next two points before she began her turn at the net.

The Millersville wrestling team is set to host the NCAA East Regionals Saturday, and hopes to salvage a little bit joy out of what has been a disappointing season. Campbell University, Duquesne University, Liberty University, and Gardener-Webb University will meet the Marauders at Pucillo gymnasium as wrestlers from each school will compete for a spot in the NCAA Championships. The top two wrestlers in each weight class will travel to Omaha, Nebraska to compete for their chance to become national champions beginning March 18.

On the last two days of February, the Millersville men’s and women’s track and field teams competed in the PSAC Indoor Championships.
Although Saturday was mostly a day spent qualifying for races that would occur the next day, the men’s team came away with 10 points and the women earned one.

The Marauders once again came up short losing 76-68 in the last game of the season against Mansfield Saturday afternoon. The loss ends Millersville’s season with a record of 8-19 overall and only 3-11 in conference play. The team also ends the season losing four straight games as well as a dismal 1-9 in their last ten games.

After a rough start to the baseball season, the Marauders have found their rhythm on the diamond. Originally the Marauders were scheduled to travel to West Virginia to face Alderson-Broaddus, but due to weather and unsuitable field conditions the team traveled to North Carolina to face Salem International at a neutral site for a three game series.
Millersville was able to sweep the series against the Tigers of Salem International. On Saturday Millersville took both games of the double header, winning game one with a score of 11-0.

Even after winning their seventh straight match against city rival Franklin & Marshall, the Millersville wrestling team has not been able to shake the dark rain cloud that has lingered above them all season.

The 2010 NFL free agency frenzy begins March 1 and there are plenty of questions for various players and teams as the offseason kicks off. This free agency period may be among the most intriguing in many years due to the possibility of an uncapped year.

This week we have selected sophomore Mike Seibert as the male athlete of week. Seibert is a guard on the men’s basketball team. He had a very impressive week on the basketball court, with a highlight game on Monday, Feb. 15, at home against Shippensburg.
