Are you tired from studying and cramming for finals. Would you cherish a good laugh? The Millersville Comedy Club might has the cure. Comedy stints every other Wednesday night in Dutcher Hall at 8:30 p.m. That is where the Snapper newspaper stumbled upon its new upcoming comedian Freddie Heinemann.
At 9:54 p.m. Thursday, April 1, the Millersville Fire Company received an alert that they could only hope was an April Fool’s joke. The peacefully silent Thursday night for many Millersville University students who are residents of Harbold Hall was sliced through by shrieking fire alarms.
The first authorities on the scene were the Millersville Police, who also identified the lingering smoke smell as a potential fire in the building. The next authorities on the scene were the Millersville Fire Company, Fire Chief Keith Eshleman, two fire engines. According to Fire Chief Eshleman, the cause of the fire was a washing machine malfunction, and was a minor event. No injuries were reported.
Students now have a chance to see one of the most interesting places in the world. Dr. Schreiber and Dr. Witmer are offering the opportunity to travel to India this summer and delve into one of the oldest cultures in the world. The trip can count as credit hours for Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communication, or South Asian History. Each participating student is assigned reading prior to the trip respective to the class they enroll in, and will get the opportunity with this trip to see their lessons come to life.

Are you looking for something exciting and intriguing to do this summer? It may be to your benefit to visit Ireland with Dr. Dominic Scott, as there are still spots open for the trip this summer. Dr. Scott takes 14 Millersville students on this annual trip to view the “peace process” that has magically taken place over recent years. The trip is from June 13 to June 23 and covers Belfast, Donegal, Derry City, Giant’s Causeway, Antrim Coast, Dunluce Castle, Carrick-a-Reed Rope Bridge, and its finale is in Corrymeela Peace Community Center. The course, which can be taken as GOVT 408 or SOCY 320, costs $1,995. The trip spans 11 days and nine nights and the air fare, accommodation, transportation, lectures, admissions, and most meals are covered in the $1,995 cost. The students will have to pay for tuition and fees separately, which may qualify for federal financial aid.
