As a dedicated social worker, Dr. Carol Heintzelman began working at Millersville University in 1968. She received a bachelor of arts at Muhlenberg College in 1965; master’s in social work from Howard University and a doctorate in 1970 from the Catholic University of America in 1980.
At various times she was the faculty chair of the social work department, and highly respected as a valued asset during faculty meetings if there is a particular issue with respect on how to handle a particular issue.
She has taught a variety of social work classes including undergraduate courses related to Gerontology, as well as general practice curriculum.
She has also taught women’s issues and family violence. I have a special love of her work with the aging population.
Her areas of interest include the elderly, health care social work, domestic violence and social work education.
