Attention artists: Friday open mic night

By Webmaster Kris Gundel on January 28, 2010 in Arts & Culture

An aspiring artist has the capabilities to redefine the meaning of words, present new ideas through creative processes, and bring a new meaning to the world of communication. Needless to say, an artist is a unique attribute to today’s society, whether a painter or poet, the possibilities of creative expression are endless.

So what better way to unveil your hidden talents than at Club de’Ville’s, “Open Mic Night.” The event taking place this Friday, January 29, is cosponsored by both Ville After Dark and the Chi Alpha Tau sorority. The sorority, known for their active participation in college activities, strives to create relationships with other organizations across campus as well as the community.

This event will allow those interested in the Greek sorority a chance to see what they are about, while running the entertainment for the night.

Speaking of entertainment, students are encouraged to sign up for a performance slot to showcase their talents. Awards will be given to the top performers with the grand prize winner receiving a $100 Visa gift card. There is no cost for the event, but snacks will be sold.

”Open Mic Night” begins at 9 p.m. and for those interested in performing, whether you are a poet, singer, or comedian, should arrive 15 minutes early to sign up. Play your part and share your talents, and you could walk away with a happy wallet.
