`In the midst of the United Nations Climate Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark; e-mails were anonymously leaked from the Climate Research Unit. Some say this is our era’s “Climate Gate.”
As the Boston Globe reports, the CRU has had thousands of private emails and documents leaked from their computers. The CRU is one of the main facilities whose data is used to support the Global Warming argument, and is the workplace for several well-known climate scientists.
These leaked e-mails show evidence of CRU scientists suppressing data that does not agree with global warming and also readjusting the peer review process by which research is submitted to such famous scientific journals as “Climate Research.”
The reason the anti-global warming climate scientists’ research has been hidden is because for research to be considered legitimate in the scientific community, the research must fit in these scientific journals. An excerpt of an email from CRU Director Phil Jones to Penn State University scientist Michael Mann shows the efforts to adjust the peer review process by not allowing two anti-global warming scientists research to be published.
Here is the excerpt from their e-mail, “I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report,” with IPCC standing for Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, “Kevin and I will keep them out somehow- even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is!”
Another interesting fact is that around the time of “Climate Gate,” it was discovered that all of the raw data from CRU (that many of Global Warming claims are based upon) has been destroyed.
Reactions to “Climate Gate” have been scarce due to the absence of the major networks reporting on this issue. MRC (Media Research Center) has reported that NBC, ABC, and CBS have yet to report on “Climate Gate,” except for one brief mention by ABC. MRC’s Free Market Project discovered that in the four years leading up to the Kyoto conference (a climate change conference) only five percent of the global warming stories on ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC mentioned the arguments of global skeptics. Also, as critics of George W. Bush pushed for him to ratify the Kyoto agreement, only three percent of the stories on all of these networks even mentioned the research of climate skeptics.
One of the few reactions to “Climate Gate” was an article by Scholar Dr. Jerome Ravetz and Professor of Climate Change Mike Hulme of BBC news. In this article they raise interesting points such as, “It is possible that some areas of climate science have become sclerotic, that its scientific practices have become too partisan, that its funding-whether from private or public sectors-has compromised scientists.” Also they suggest that some emails “suggests a form of social organization that is now all too familiar in some sections of business and government”. There is a solution proposed by Dr. Ravetz and Professor Hulme though, who believe that science must improve by engaging with expertise outside the laboratory and becoming more responsive to natural skepticism and scrutiny by the public.
The New American reported that shortly after “Climate Gate” that CRU Director Phil Jones stepped down from his position as director of CRU. They also stated that an independent review board is being launched into a full investigation of “Climate Gate” and CRU.
Very nice article. However, I believe that the scientists have only skewed the data because they knew that if they didn’t scare the public, the public wouldn’t take the situation seriously enough.
Looking at the models created, such as ones that say stuff like “In 30 years, Florida will be covered in water.” Then we are to assume that this is based off of incorrect data thanks to these scientists modifying data.
I believe they still do believe that over a longer period of time, these affects will happen. However, in order to protect the human race and protect the Earth, they took it upon themselves to make it seem as though affects will occur much sooner.

Blaming Human involvement for Global Warming issues is a myth. Human involvement has nothing to do with rising sea levels. Sure, we are all responsible for churning out hazardous and lethal smogs and polluting the rivers and the earth and distabilising the earth bed by drilling for oil and gases to accommodate our desire for industrial power. But this apparently rathar new and present danger to our planet is solely being caused by the earth’s magnetic structure and activity and is way our of our control.If anyone or Government thinks they can curb or stop the process by building a wind farm along the coast or an energy saving eco-green wind propellor in their backyard in Lisdoonvarna then think again. The ice in the North Polar cap is melting quickly because the magnetic strength in theis pole is shifting southwards somewhere located in Siberia now, hence why Siberia is getting even stranger climate activity. As it continues southwards and it will do so to reshape it’s power in the other pole (reversal of magnets) and eventual spinning of the earth in the opposite direction, more impending disasters will follow suit as the earth tries to balance itself out again. We don’t know how long this will take for sure but it’s already started and seems to be rapidly gaining pace if you study the stats regularly for around the globe.It will change the earth’s temperature completely and redmodel the whole planet.Earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons and land loss are but a few of the coming times. Humans, being what they are, are far too busy killing each other and vying for economic power to notice the real dangers lurking. So for those well intended scientists in Copenhagen all I can say is enjoy the free holiday and free Carlsberg. And they also make some great furniture.
I suspect they do indeed believe what they claim.
However it would be great to be certain that what they believe is indeed correct.
It wouldn’t be fun to waste billions to prevent an effect we have no control over.
Or alternatively, if there’s both a considerable anthropogenic impact combined with natural cycles, it would be even less fun to spend billions and then find out we actually accelerated the impending cooling and drop ourselves into another little ice age.
Anyway, the more publicity for the situation the better. If the science behind the AGW theory gets published, scrutinized and criticized by other scientists, that won’t hurt anyone. And if the situation results in competing climate theories getting their share of consideration, all the better.
True research has proven temperatures havn’t been rising, look it up. This is all about the copenhagen summit and its bid for a global government. If this global tax passes the money wont even be controlled by the UN it will be controlled my a consortium which will consist of banks sadly. Look for the information its all here on the internet. Obama has already said he will ratify this in americas interest whether or not the senate agrees. obama has already broken or constitution to pieces by sitting on the UN he has show he doesnt have americas best interrest in mind. At any rate in the coming days we know many PHD Scientests are going to be as thoroughly as possible, going through these cooked Data Stastics to see how accurate or in accurate they are! It is as is in a business deal when it is discovered that the books were cooked any sensible business man or woman will call the deal off! Any other activity in light of this evidence would and could be judged as a move of insanity! Just not done by astute business people! When this affects so many human lives it should be a double effort of investigations! I believe there is so much fraud and manipulation here that many officials and manipulators are going to go to jail, as they should!
