`The Ganser Library will be running a survey through November 20, 2009 available to students, faculty, and staff.
The library utilizes libQual, which is a survey tool offered by the Association of Research Libraries.
Ganser Library Out-reach Librarian, Erin Dorney, said the survey is being used to, “Solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of library service quality.”
The libQUAL system has been used at Millersville in 2004 and 2006.
According to Dorney, “The information from this survey will be used for comparisons and benchmarking.”
All Pennsylvanian State System Higher Education (PASSHE) school libraries will be participating in this survey.

The library survey consists of 27 questions, and takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
Respondents of the survey may be anonymous, and entering contact information is optional. The contact information allows one to be entered in the drawings for prizes for answering the survey questions.
Incentives given for completing the survey include one $200 gift certificate, one $100 gift certificate, one $50 gift certificate, and two library fine waivers. However, the waivers have a $15 limit, and cannot be used on laptops.
The survey will be running now through November 20, 2009 and can be found by visiting the website above or the library Website.
The survey has many expectations.
According to Dorney, “We’re looking for ways we can improve the quality of our library services to Millersville University students, faculty and staff.
We also want to know what we’re doing well, so we can continue to offer to resources and services that are of the most value here at MU.”
There are many renovations to the library scheduled to take place, Dorney says the renovations will be “a two year undertaking virtually gutting the building to renovate our space.”
Some of the feedback from the survey will be tied into what the library staff plans to do.
All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to visit the Website and complete the library survey before November 20.
Remember, personal contact information does not need to be entered unless one wants to be entered to win the cash prizes.
