The Drummer

By Samantha Edminston on September 16, 2009 in Arts & Culture

Fast beats the heart within my breast
Fluttering, ever fluttering
Can you feel the drummer? Never does he rest

Dreaming of you
The butterflies overwhelm
Drummer ever drumming. Fluttering ensues

My love for you is deeper than one can delve
Stronger than the strongest storm
Rarer than the roses twelve

Existing in my mind
Memories of springtime strolls
Letters of love and words that bind

Enveloped in my heart
Warmth and love of another
And footprints, pressed deep, leave their mark

Can you feel the drummer? Rhythm true.
My strongly pounding heart
Powerfully it beats, beats for you.
