Wanting to be recognized for his writing, 29-year-old Millersville University student, Randall Walsh, was arrested after allegedly threatening a philosophy professor with a knife.
Walsh went to visit a philosophy professor on Jan. 7 at his office in McComsey Hall during winter class sessions.
He was not enrolled in winter courses, although he did take classes in fall 2008 and was registered for spring 2009.
According to charging documents, Walsh was ordered to Lancaster County Prison with bail set at $50,000.
Five charges, including terroristic threats, simple assault, disorderly conduct, all misdemeanor charges, and two counts of criminal mischief after damaging the professor’s desk with a knife and a University police holding cell.
A trespass notice was posted on Jan. 12 and students are urged to contact MUPD if they see Walsh on campus.
According to Janet Kacskos, University spokeswoman, conditions on whether or not Walsh could return to campus are unknown pending the judicial hearing.
Walsh would have to reapply and show that he has met University requirements.

I want to stand up for Randy Walsh, since he at this point has no voice. I’m Randy Walsh’s sister and for the last year alls I heard was bad shit about him. Millersville failed to mention my brother suffers from a mental disorder . In December of 08, my brother was sent to a mental hospital. He was there one week. The hospital dropped his meds cold turkey and put him on new ones. When you have bipolar or any type of disability you can’t drop someones meds cold turkey. You have to gradually swing off of them. So as the result he was release only to go back on his old ones. Millersville failed to mention that. Instead its easier to bash someone when they are’t in his shoes. He was on his old meds that he took before he went into the hospital. So his system not only had the new meds still in him but the old to, which can make you manic or even kill you. After the incident my brother got stable and realized what he done. I’m pist how millersville handled this . My brother is a hard worker, smart, and a good human.Who made one mistake and he has to live with this forever. Is’t that enough ? It’s not his fault he has bipolar. But we live in a world were people will stab you anyway they can. And for what. My brother is sorry that this matter happen. And he is taking actions to make sure that the next time this happens he will speak up before he has a manic episode. I hope that people will realize that what you see on t.v is’t always what it seems, and that people would understand more. Instead of looking at a person who is mental and using it against them.
