News in a Snap: Santa, Creamery, Holiday decorations

By Rebecca LeFever on December 3, 2008

Santa is coming to town
Grover Gouker, better known as Santa Claus, will be visiting the University Store at noon on Dec. 4. He will speak and share from his books My Santamental Journey and I Don’t Want No Soap. Light refreshments will be served.

New dessert added to Gordinier

A Turkey Hill Creamery was added to Cygnet’s in Gordinier Hall. Mix-ins, soft serve and hand-dipped ice cream is available throughout the semester.

Holiday safety and decorations
While the University asks that you use artificial greenery, we are making accommodations to treat your live greens through Facilities Management. You must bring the tree, wreath, or garland to the Bishop building and allow 48 hours for the item to be treated, and for it to dry, before picking it back up. The tree, wreath, or garland will be tagged to verify that it has been treated. Only tagged Christmas trees, wreaths, and garlands are permitted inside campus buildings. Those found without a tag will be removed. The live tree/wreath/garland must be removed from the campus building no later than Jan. 4. in addition, Christmas tree lights or other electrical decorative devices are prohibited inside campus buildings.
