“It’s Britney Bitch”….and indeed it is. Sunday evening at 10 p.m. MTV aired “On the Record”, the Britney Spears documentary, recording her return to the top.
As irrelevant as this might be, I could not pass up the opportunity to say I told you so, to pretty much everyone. I am not one to brag, but I remained a devoted fan through it all and I never gave up on her.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I sat down to watch the documentary and I was praying it wouldn’t be a big failure as her past comeback attempts. I was blown away by what I saw.
The footage was raw and real. I saw remorse for her past actions and I saw a young girl rebuilding her life after facing trials and failures. What struck me the most was how secluded she really is and how lonely she must get.
At the risk of sounding like a freak I would have to say that what she said was actually something everyone could relate to. She talked about moving on and learning from past mistakes. She also talked about how important it is to surround oneself with the right people. This is a lesson that I too had to learn the hard way.
I think that as college students, this is something that is important because we are at a point in our lives where we are trying to define ourselves and we become defined a lot of the time by who we run with. The documentary featured interviews with Britney’s father and Madonna. I thought Madonna’s comments reinforced the idea that Britney may have her problems but so does everyone else.
Britney has been working hard on her comeback and it is what has motivated her to recover from her set back.
Since the documentary ran, it seems like things have escalated for Ms. Spears. Her new album, Circus debuted with her hit single “Womanizer”; tour dates were announced and tickets went on sale. It was a fan’s dream.
Today I am the proud owner of tickets to see one of the greatest comeback tours in history. I am expecting nothing but a passionate concert from Britney. I was expecting a comeback but wasn’t sure it would come this soon.
Now all I need is for Justin to kiss her under the mistletoe, and my holidays will be complete.
And for the record: I told you so.

I love you for being honest about britney, i love her and have done since i declared her the next madonna, when i saw the second half of Baby one more time, for the first time in 1998. This is a fab album and i love the videos so far. Go Britney and I told you so too.
leave britney alone!
Meh. I’m still waiting for the new Daft Punk album to get released in ’09, so Britney news really aren’t up my alley.
I do think that if she can just stay out of trouble (and keep her hair) she’ll be fine. But that’s just me, anyways.
This is hilarious… Britney just never quits.
Great blog, I’ve bookmarked it and I’ll be back again!
I am crazy about Britney, I love her.
