I couldn't agree more. Not only is smoking horrible on the body but it's one of the hardest habits to quit. I have several friends who began smoking in collage & 15 years latter they're still smoking. The unbelievable thing is that many of them have children! With all the the smoking in public places laws that are being pasted it only makes sense have these types of laws go into affect in collage campuses as well.

Hi Allyson,

Thank you for providing full information on harmful effects on smoking as well as tips to stop nicotine craving.
I would like to add my experience which helped me stop smoking. Never I use to smoke in front of my wife and kids, instead tried to get excuse to go out for smoking. I felt guilty that I tell lye with my own kids for such an addiction which is of no use for me as well as spoiling my health. I started a technique of using my free time playing with my kids and chatting with my wife. This drastically reduced 5-6 cigarettes per day. Same technique I applied in my office. There I started avoiding my craving by initiating next day work. This improved my productivity as well as reduced my cigarette smoking in office from 15 to 1 or 2. By following like this I completely stopped and I do not smoke now. I am a successful ex-smoker from last 5 years.
I would like to add one more dangerous effect of smoking. When teens smoke, there are possibility that DNA signature can get changed, which my get transferred to next generations. I also used for me to get motivated.

Thanks
Nick
