Halloween is a time for fun and dressing up but there are also over 4,000 other ghosts, murderers and zombies walking around too. This is a great time for anyone who loves to dress up in costumes, loves getting candy and having a good time. Halloween will be here before you know it.
This would be a great time to look for your awesome costume, but for college students this might hurt your bank account a little.
We all know that costumes are getting more expensive, skimpier, and boring… but this does not mean your costume has to be! In this day and age, sex definitely sells but I think that it is pushed a little bit too much for Halloween.
We all remember when witchs dresses were made to go down to your ankles and now you never see a witchs dress come down past the thigh. Every costume these days went from being scary to provocative.
It is also strange how every year you try to buy something different to be for Halloween, and then you go out just to see 50 other people wearing the same thing you are. It is very frustrating also, how you go to buy a costume and you have seen them all before.
They ask you to pay 75 dollars to be a “sexy pirate” but you could be one for cheaper if you were just creative. You can always see what you already have to use in your costume or go to your local thrift shop to get cheap clothing that you could sew or cut to create a perfect costume.
To make things easier on your wallet, you can buy fabric and sew your costume. This may take some time, but it makes your costume custom fitted, and looking exactly how you want it.
There’s alot of things you can find around your house too that you can use to make a fun, creative costume. A fun costume you could make yourself is take a cardboard box and cut holes on the sides and bottom and make yourself a present. To top it off top yourself off with a big red bow.
Halloween, as you may know, has been started as a tradition and also means “All Hallows Eve” or the night before “All Souls’ Day” which is on November 1. This was a day for Episcopalians and Lutherans to observe all the Saints in heaven, known or unknown.

It was said that the witches gathered for a party hosted by the devil and the witches would cast spells on unsuspecting people to do mischief and turn them into different forms.
The myth of black cats also became known from Halloween and witches. It was said that witches would turn into a black cat so they would not be seen.
So it was known that if a black cat cross your path, then you need to turn back or bad luck would haunt you.
What is very interesting about Halloween is because of the American pop-culture, they got other regions such as Japan, Germany, and Spain to have Halloween become very popular.
There are other myths that relate to Halloween such as if you walk underneath a ladder than its said you will have bad luck for seven days.
Halloween used to be full of customs and fun festivities but over the years it has turned into this spooky, haunted day.
More and more kids are dressing up in scary costumes other than fun kiddy costumes such as cartoon characters, fairies, animals and movie stars. Now when you walk the streets you see scary masks, the famous moviestar killers.
The more scary movies that kids watch, the more they want to be dressed in horrifying costumes.
Its not a good impression that scary movies are protraying on kids. Studies have shown that because of the things kids see on on tv has a big impact on their well being.
This night can be very enjoyable, but just remember to stay with people that you know and make sure you are walking with the right monster, you like to call your friends.
Make sure you have a way to call your friends if you get away from them and make sure you never leave your stuff unattended.
If you are to go out to do the infamous trick-or-treating, just remember that there are many children that are going to be out doing the same thing.
